    Economically, yes, the countries are intertwined. But military-wise, the US is like Canada's body guard. You have Canada, which to an enemy seems easy to invade until you see this superpower of a friend it has right to the south.

    Well, I can tell you personally that Americans don't salute a helicopter lol. You might see military personnel do that if the president is inside maybe but that's an "if".

    As for the freedom chanting reference, that's called national pride.

    Yes, Canadians do have a reputation of just living life. Canadians also have a reputation of not doing anything else. This is reasonable because of how young the country is even compared to the US, and that Canada can't really expand anywhere else.

    The US and Canada are both great nations. Canada doesn't seem to want a large military. Why would they? Canada is a peaceful and respectable nation. We Americans believe in Freedom for all humanity and protection of our people. We like to make statements to the world to show our power, it helps protect us. This makes us respectful, too. Saying that asking Canada for help is like grasshopper helping elephant is just stupid. Our nations are intertwined (misspelled?) what affects one affects both.
